Congregational Meeting - November 16
The Cabinet has approved the Nominations Slate for 2015 and has scheduled a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, Nov. 16th, immediately following Sunday worship. As described in our Constitution, the purposes of this meeting shall be election of officers and ministry members and the approval of the 2015 budget. In addition, the proposal to purchase The New Century Hymnal, which was approved by Cabinet in January and subsequently brought to the congregation at the 2014 Annual Meeting will be put to a congregational vote. As you may remember, the proposal was moved and seconded and then tabled until after arrival of our new pastor. Pastor Ian has now indicated his support of this proposal and suggested that we use this congregational meeting to reach a decision so that if approved, new hymnals could be purchased as Christmas gifts. Specifics of the purchase plan will be discussed at the meeting but the basic proposal is to instruct the Trustees to use existing Memorial Funds to purchase the hymnals and then enable individual members to purchase individual copies as a dedication or memorial.
If you are unable to attend on the 16th, you may designate a proxy voter to cast your vote at the meeting. You must notify the Moderator, in writing of your intention to vote by proxy and name the person you have designated by Sunday Nov. 9th. Your written notice may be via email (email@example.com) or by note sent to the office or given to the Clerk of Cabinet (Ed Eckert) or the Moderator (Don Jones).
If you have any questions, feel free to contact any member of Cabinet.
