FAQs

When should we book our date?

The date of the wedding must be at least three months from the time a contract is signed. Your reservation is confirmed only after the non-refundable deposit is received. Weddings can be held indoor year-round. Dell weddings are held from the first Saturday in June through the last Saturday in September.

Who will officiate the ceremony?

Weddings are officiated by the pastoral staff of Old South United Church of Christ. We will consider outside officiants after a chat with the pastoral staff.

How will our ceremony be planned?

Planning sessions will be held with the wedding minister prior to your wedding day. These sessions are intended to help the minister get to know you better and to create a ceremony with your input.

How will our ceremony be coordinated?

You will be assigned a wedding coordinator to assist in arrangements at the church for your service. The coordinator will assist the minister with the details and procedures at both the rehearsal and ceremony. This coordinator is available for phone calls during preparations.

How early can we have access to the venue?

The wedding coordinator will open the church building two hours prior to your service.

Do you only offer Saturday ceremonies?

Saturday weddings can be scheduled for anytime during the day or early evening. If you need non-Saturday wedding just let us know, it will need to be scheduled around other church events so the necessary space and personnel are available.

We booked the Dell, what if it rains?

In the event of inclement weather, weddings scheduled for the Dell will be moved into the sanctuary.

Can our pet be part of the ceremony?

Sure! But, probably only if your service is taking place in the outdoor Dell. Let us know if you have a furry friend you would like to be a part of your ceremony.

How long is the sanctuary aisle?

The center aisle of the sanctuary is 45 feet from the double interior doors of the vestibule. For safety reasons, aisle runners cannot be used in the Dell.

How many people can we invite?

Both the sanctuary and the Dell seat approximately 180 guests. In the sanctuary, this includes the balcony and chairs in the back.

Do you have a photography policy?

No flash photography is permitted during the ceremony except at the entrance (from halfway down center aisle) and from the back as the couple exit after ceremony. All other photos must be captured from the balcony or vestibule, with available light only. Don’t worry professional photographers know how to handle this.

Parts of the ceremony may be re-posed before or after the ceremony, if desired; however please make a conscious effort to have your photography finished within a reasonable amount of time.

Videography must be done from the balcony with available light.
